ISLAMABAD: In recognition of Islamabad’s contributions within the peaceable use of nuclear expertise, Pakistan has been elected as a member of the board of governors of the Worldwide Atomic Vitality Company (IAEA) for the subsequent two years, Radio Pakistan reported. 

It’s pertinent to say right here that Pakistan has been elected 20 instances to the board prior to now and has performed a significant function within the formulation of the company’s insurance policies and programmes.

Pakistan was final elected as a member of the IAEA in 2018.

Of the company’s 170 member international locations, the board consists of 35 members, out of which 11 are elected to the IAEA’s board of governors each two years.

The IAEA is a world organisation that seeks to advertise the peaceable use of nuclear power and inhibit its use for any navy goal, together with nuclear weapons.
