The Supreme Courtroom of Pakistan (SC) on Thursday dominated that girls can solely declare inheritance inside their lifetime, and their youngsters would haven’t any rights on this regard later.

The apex courtroom’s ruling got here throughout a case filed by the kids of a girl, hailing from Peshawar, who sought their share within the inheritance of their maternal grandfather’s property.

A 3-member bench of the highest courtroom — presided over by Justice Umar Ata Bandial — heard the case. The bench rejected the enchantment filed by the girl’s youngsters.

The youngsters’s grandfather, Isa Khan, in 1935, had transferred his property to his son, Abdul Rehman, and avoided giving his two daughters their due share.

In 2004, the kids had filed a case looking for a share of their grandfather’s property. A civil courtroom had dominated of their favour, however the determination was challenged within the Peshawar Excessive Courtroom (PHC), which had overruled the civil courtroom’s order.
